Jason L. Neff, C.A.  – Director and Founder

Jason L. Neff, MSTOM, C.A. fell in love with oriental traditions early in life studying Martial Arts and reading the Tao Te Ching. After graduating from Hofstra University with a B.S. in Design, Jason joined the world of advertising and rapidly started to develop various unexplained auto-immune symptoms, such as raynaud’s disorder, uveitis, and various stomach pains. Searching for a solution that didn’t involve medication he took his first qigong class. That first class lead him to all the healing modalities of Traditional Chinese Medicine and fueled his desire to learn and share the practices with others.

Jason graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in New York City where he studied acupuncture, chinese herbology, tuina (a form of asian body work) and chinese dietary therapy. He is Board Certified nationally by the NCCAOM in acupuncture and herbal medicine (Dipl. O.M.) He is a certified Qigong Meridian Therapist.

In addition to his traditional education, Jason also completed a four-year Classical Taoist Apprenticeship.

Currently, Jason is on the faculty of the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine (NYC).  He also frequently lectures to the public about about classical traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and natural self-healing.

Anna R. Neff., Ph.D.
Health Clinical Psychologist & Certified Dragon’s Way ® Qigong Instructor
_w2c8665

Anna’s education in healing and medicine began very early in life with both of her parents being Western medical doctors in Canada.  Spending time in the hospital setting from an early age, Anna became deeply fascinated with systems of medicine and nurturing alternative pathways to health.  At age 15, Anna followed her father’s advice and turned to yoga to cope with pain from a cervical spinal injury from a severe automobile crash.  With this deep personal understanding of pain as a vehicle for transformation and growth, she began her lifelong journey working with people to help them to discover the opportunity that comes from health crisis.  Anna is deeply committed to teaching people simple tools for stress management and self-care.  At Phoenix Acupuncture, she teaches Dragon’s Way Qigong as a way of helping other’s reconnect to their own innate healing ability.

Anna received her Ph.D. in Health Clinical Psychology from University of Miami, and completed her residency in Behavioral Medicine at Rush Medical in Chicago.  She also completed a National Cancer Institute Postdoctoral Fellowship in Cancer Prevention and Control at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.  She continues to work with long-term cancer survivors at Hackensack, Memorial Sloan Kettering, and Mount Sinai in her role as a clinician offering a specialized counseling for cancer-specific post-traumatic distress.  Currently supported by the American Cancer Society, Anna’s ongoing research is examining psychological distress and spiritual transformation in long-term cancer survivors of hematopoietic stem cell transplantation.  Past research projects include: Biobehavioral Bases of Coronary Heart Disease Risk and Management; Assessing Cardiovascular Risk in Insulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus; Yoga-based trauma exposure relief intervention for child survivors of December 2004 tsunami; Efficacy of a traditional Chinese medicine based lifestyle intervention for weight loss; Acupuncture for chemotherapy-associated cognitive dysfunction.
